the older generation constantly puts down us, but in terms of sports team, a team from today would annihiliate a team from 1970-back, it wouldnt be close in any sport aside from baseball

Maybe that might be true but most back then probably couldn't afford one. Its easier for people to buy nowdays with all the types of credit available not to mention other types of assistance. Sometimes nowdays people go beyond their means of spending, in other words they have got more bills coming in then they can pay for but I'll have to say thank goodness for credit.

Not all of the older generation gap puts young people down because they know they are the future. The same goes for younger people not always showing respect for older people. As for sports teams we will never know if a team from now could beat a team back then but like I said the guys are alot bigger now. Do you think the guys back then played more for the love of the sport or the money involved? I'ld like to see how many now days would play for $100,000 or less per year which is still a good amount of money.
not really true. We had our gaming systems and at the time they were "state of the art, best gaming system out there" but we still played the real thing. I do think all the facebook, texting and other social things people can engage in without being there has a big effect on things too. You don't have to get together in person to get together anymore.
I use to be a video game junkie as a kid but mon and dad made me go outside and play. I can see some parents thinking the videogame time given to the kids today if free time for themselves.

Yeah..there was Tecmo Bowl and Punch Out...BTW, if ya wonder what a showdown between a team from the past vs. a present day team would be like, check out the last time PV played Giles. Speed and Gym built muscle goes out the window at the line of scrimmage.
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
"Those who criticize our generation, forget who raised it", write that down......
Tecmo Nintendo games = the greatest video games known to man. Tecmo Bowl, Tecmo Super Bowl, Tecmo Basketball, all good stuff

Old time players = better technique and tougher
Modern players = better athleticism, speed, strength
That's really what it breaks down into if you think about the question long enough. Older teams/players could out-think/execute the other team and beat them on any given day, not leaning on athleticism. Today's teams/players tend to win more based on just having superior athletes all over the field, not relying as much on execution or game planning.
It's a different game today, which is why I laugh when people want to compare today's Patriots to yesterday's 49ers, or today's Baltimore to yesterday's Chicago. Two different eras, two different styles of play in each one.
